A word from head coach, Roly Pratt:
“The Ladies of AUWRFC have already put in a two-day weekend boot camp, plus two weeks of practice. There is a quiet self confidence in the returning group. They have moved on from the great strides we made in the spring, and are now focused on capturing their first PRU title.
This upcoming week we will be putting together our final preparations for our first game of the season against Salisbury. We also need to fully integrate our rookie class. This year we have another exceptionally talented group joining our ranks. The future looks very bright indeed.
There are three practices left until game day. Six hours of hard work that hopefully will see us put together a good performance on Saturday. For our first game, as much as I love to win, it will be one of the last things that I will focus on. More important to me will be execution of the game plan and player development. I am always looking for areas of improvement, and playing against a well drilled team like Salisbury will provide a nice test for the players.
Hopefully we can build on our performance and use it as a springboard for the rest of the season.”
AU will host Salisbury this Saturday at Burning Tree Local Park, located at 7904 Beechtree Road in Bethesda. Kick-off time is at 1 p.m.
