While Saturday’s game against Mary Washington didn’t result in a win on the books, it was a game that made us proud to be on AUWRFC. The team played our best rugby for 80 full minutes and left everything we had on the field, resulting in what our referee for the day referred to as “a hell of a match.”
The forward pack showed great support and communication and had consistently powerful scrums throughout the game. For most of our spring rookies who came on Saturday, it was their first ever game of rugby, and each of them made positive contributions during their time on the field. Our woman of the match this game was Siena, who showed equally fantastic offensive and defensive play.
As a team, we are incredibly proud of how we played and will continue to show what we are capable of as the season goes on.
